Unfinished Writings

I have several posts pending, but cannot seem to finish any one of them.

  • My Wall-E-esque Life: “Fat Positivity” Fails

  • Pain: A Cruel Mistress

  • Gallbladder GONE!
  • Acceptance Into Anthology

Other Crap

I’m also having olfactory hallucinations again and would like to write about that, too. And then there’s 45 and his bullshit trips abroad.

I’m struggling with work, losing client after client because I am so sick I’m unable to be signed in for them to call me.

But I felt I owed my few readers at least some update about why I have not been around. Really, really, working hard on getting at least something done and posted.

Please stay tuned!

  1. Hey, kiddo, hang in there! Your mention, just now, of coccidioidomycosis hit a nerve, and I sent it to Patrick. He went through an episode last year with TB/pneumonia-like symptoms, lymph involvement, low-grade fever. Was off work for weeks (in Germany – no sweat – they don’t fire you, and they pay for your healthcare) while they decided whether he had TB!!! Never came to any conclusion, other than they ruled that out and sent him back to work. Interesting, he and Steff hiked in the desert of Utah for their honeymoon. He sees an oncologist and pulmonary specialist regularly…as they are stumped.

Also, on the diet issue. Tell you what I am currently doing….and not to lose weight. I’m sick and tired of dealing with DM2…its now 23 years old. I am a CDE and LDE (Certified Diabetes Educator AND Indiana Licensed Diabetes Educator). I watched the movie “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”, and it lead me to read “The China Study”. Since I check my Blood Glucose constantly, I feel totally free to experiment. I have only been doing it for a little over a week, but my sugars are exceedingly NORMAL. Better than they have been in years! And, I’m eating unlimited fruits and vegetables. I have worked, struggled with this SOOOOO hard! Was actually on Atkins for 5 years (while I was unaware that I had Cushings, so it didn’t help)….so I went for 5 years without the fresh fruit that I love!. The research in The China Study will blow your mind….and it flies in the face of everything I’ve been taught as a nurse and Diabetes Educator. Its quite disheartening to think I have been leading my patients down the wrong path all of these years. Laura has been harping at me, as she and Jake are vegetarians. They do it for health and environmental reasons….and now I hear her! I’m not going to be a vegetarian…but will strive for a whole foods, plant-based diet, with whole grains, dairy, in smaller amounts….and meat occasionally. If I’m out, I won’t sweat it…but I feel like this is a positive change for me.

    Thinking of you!

    1. OMG, Judy! Have Patrick email me and I can give him a lot of personal info about how to get the attention you need and the tests to ask for. It absolutely sounds like cocci!!!! Let me know if I can help in any way.

      Much love, as always.
